Seamless Floor in Delft
seamless, in your colour, for years.

We regularly work in Delft — from sleek new-build projects in Tanthof and Buitenhof to historic homes in the city centre around Markt and Oude Kerk. Our showroom is located in The Hague-Ypenburg, a 12-minute drive from Delft centre. Two product lines: microcement for walls & furniture, Lavasteen Seamless Floor for floors in wet rooms.

Delft projects

What we do here — by neighbourhood

Historic city centre — listed buildings around the Markt

The Delft city centre is largely designated as a protected townscape, with many listed buildings around the Oude and Nieuwe Kerk, Beestenmarkt and Oude Delft. Here we work primarily on bathroom walls and small bespoke furniture in microcement — no ripping out tiles, which in listed buildings often becomes a planning permission issue. Our technique works over the existing finish after preparation, which complies with the listed building requirements of Delft municipality.

TU-Noord, Wippolder & Voorhof — young demographic, sleek renovations

Around TU Delft there are many rental properties and starter flats, often renovated in a modern, minimalist style. Here we see strong demand for Pure White, Pearl and Lavender Grey shades for bathroom walls, combined with a Lavasteen Microcement Floor (Sea Shell or Linnen) on the wet-room floor. Perfect for renovations that must be completed within a short tenancy handover period (3–4 working days for a bathroom).

Tanthof, Buitenhof & Vrijenban — 1970s/80s social housing

In these neighbourhoods we often find concrete or sand-cement screeds that have been in use for decades, sometimes with cracks due to subsidence on Delft's peat subsoil. We always check the floor for moisture content (max. 2% for sand-cement screeds) and carry out local repairs first if necessary. In rental properties managed by Vidomes and DUWO we often work over existing tiles — saves demolition costs + meets handover requirements.

Delfgauw, Pijnacker-Zuid & Noordeinde — new-build with anhydrite

On the south side of Delft (Delfgauw, Pijnacker) and in new developments such as Harnaschpolder we almost always encounter anhydrite screed — the ideal substrate for our finish. Underfloor heating is standard. Important: anhydrite must be completely dry before application (moisture content ≤0.5%). With new-build projects we often visit at an early stage to measure.

Peat subsoil — why this is Delft-specific and important

Delft sits partly on peat soil with natural settlement. In older properties (pre-1970) we more often see cracking floors due to subsidence. We use an elastic primer layer beneath our finish to absorb minor movement — without the overlying seamless floor cracking. For properties with more significant settlement issues we recommend a thorough inspection or levelling beforehand.

Frequently asked — Delft questions

Questions we often hear in Delft

Do you also work in monumental Delft city-centre buildings?

Yes, regularly — particularly on bathrooms in properties around Oude Delft, Markt and Beestenmarkt. Our technique works over existing tiles after proper preparation without demolition, which complies with listed building requirements (no alteration to load-bearing structure). If in doubt, we can consult with Delft municipality's conservation team in advance.

What do you do about subsidence on Delft's peat subsoil?

For homes on peat soil we use an elastic primer layer beneath the seamless floor. This absorbs small movements (0.5–1 mm settlement) without the top finish cracking. For larger settlement problems (≥2 mm) we recommend thorough levelling or reinforcement measures beforehand.

How much does a seamless floor cost in Delft?

DIY kits start at € 155 per 5 m² tub of microcement, € 235 for Lavasteen Seamless Floor. For professional installation: € 90–150 per m² depending on substrate, colour and surface area. For Delft projects within 20 km of our showroom, no travel surcharge applies.

Do you work with Delft contractors?

Yes, we regularly coordinate with plumbers, tilers and contractors in Delft. On larger renovation projects (complete new bathroom build) we align our schedule with other tradespeople to minimise downtime.

How long does a bathroom renovation in Delft take?

For a complete bathroom renovation (5–10 m²): typically 3–4 working days incl. drying time for our finish. When new pipework or sanitary ware is also involved, we schedule our stage following the plumber's work. Total renovation including all trades: 1–2 weeks.
