Description
Lavasteen Seamless Floor & Wall – Melisse Concrete Look
Lavasteen Seamless Floor in the colour Melisse combines artisan control with modern performance. You pour the mass and distribute it manually with a trowel. This allows you to choose a sleek minimalist or subtly lively texture.
Epoxy and Lavasteen form a seamless surface: completely waterproof and highly scratch-resistant, suitable for both floor and wall.
Melisse is a calm, warm light shade that creates a sense of space. The colour combines beautifully with wood, light natural stone and soft fabrics. Less replacement means fewer raw materials, transport and CO₂ — a sustainable choice.
Characteristic properties of Lavasteen Seamless Floor Melisse
- Completely waterproof – ideal for bathrooms and kitchens; even if the top layer is locally damaged, the underlayer remains waterproof.
- Highly scratch-resistant – Lavasteen reinforces the matrix; suitable for residential, hospitality and office environments.
- Seamless & hygienic – no joints; stains cannot penetrate and cleaning is quick.
- Thin layer & underfloor heating – efficient heat transfer; comfortable and energy-efficient.
- Control over appearance – manual application: sleek uniform or subtly vibrant.
- Low-maintenance – daily convenience with mild cleaners; aggressive products are unnecessary.
What is a Lavasteen Seamless Floor?
Lavasteen Seamless Floor is a 2-component system with an A-component (base mass) and a B-component (epoxy hardener). After mixing, a firm, trowelable paste is formed; you retain control over texture, nuance and appearance.
Unlike a traditional epoxy resin floor, Lavasteen Seamless Floor does not self-level; you determine the finish. This combines freedom in application with durability and living comfort.

Applications & Substrates
Residential: floors, walls, bathrooms, showers, stairs and bespoke furniture. Commercial: shops, hospitality and offices. New build & renovation: sleek, seamless and low-maintenance.
Adheres to: concrete, cement, tiles (with primer), plaster, wood and MDF. Working over tiles? Level the joints AND the entire surface with Stucopaste. Then use the coarse primer. This creates a reliable base. In wet areas the system remains fully waterproof and hygienic.
Apply Melisse yourself – steps
You don't need to be a professional. With the guide you'll succeed step by step. Follow these key steps:
- Prepare the substrate – stable, clean and level; use primer where necessary for adhesion and stability.
- Mixing – stir component A until homogeneous; add the weighed component B and mix for 2–3 minutes.
- Layer 1 – apply thinly and tightly with the trowel; remove tape; allow to dry for at least 24 hours.
- Layer 2 – choose sleek or subtly vibrant; lightly mist and distribute the "slip coat" with a flexible trowel for nuance.
- Curing & sanding – approx. 24 hours curing; sand with grit 80.
- PU topcoat – prevents yellowing and simplifies maintenance; multiple layers if desired.

Comparison with other finishes
- Lavasteen Seamless Floor (Melisse) – applied manually with trowel; matte concrete look; extremely hard, scratch-resistant and fully waterproof; ideal for floor & wall, suitable for residential, new-build and underfloor heating.
- Epoxy poured floor – fully poured; not suitable for residential properties or underfloor heating due to hardness and limited elasticity.
- PU resin floor – elastic and comfortable; compatible with underfloor heating, but less hard and scratch-resistant than Lavasteen Seamless Floor.
- Traditional Beton Ciré / microcement – cement-based; only waterproof with additional PU layer; less wear-resistant.
