The combination of epoxy and carefully selected lava stone crystals delivers a seamless surface that is completely waterproof and highly scratch-resistant.
Sterling is a cool, clear grey tone that brings calm. Light wood, white and matte black accents come into their own powerfully. Because you distribute the mass manually with a trowel, you choose a sleek-minimalist or subtly lively concrete look.

How to apply Sterling neatly yourself
You don't need to be a professional to achieve expert results. With the instructions, you'll succeed step by step. Follow these key steps:
- Prepare the substrate – stable, clean and level; use primer where necessary for optimal adhesion.
- Mixing – stir component A until homogeneous; add the weighed component B and mix for 2–3 minutes.
- Layer 1 – apply thinly and tightly with the trowel; remove tape; allow to dry for at least 24 hours.
- Layer 2 – choose tight or subtly lively; lightly mist and distribute the "slip coat" with a flexible trowel for extra nuance.
- Curing & sanding – approx. 24 hours curing; sand with grit 80 (short = anti-slip, longer = smoother).
- PU topcoat – prevents yellowing, increases protection and makes maintenance easy.

What is Lavasteen Seamless Floor: a poured floor or a render?
Lavasteen Seamless Floor is a 2-component concrete render with epoxy. You pour the mass and distribute it manually with a trowel. This allows you to control the texture and achieve a natural, matte concrete look on floor and wall.
Why not a traditional epoxy resin floor?
An epoxy poured floor flows out completely and, due to its hardness and limited elasticity, is not ideal for residential properties or underfloor heating. Lavasteen Seamless Floor is developed for residential comfort: natural appearance, high scratch resistance and excellent compatibility with underfloor heating.
How waterproof is Sterling in the shower?
The finish is seamless and fully waterproof. Even with local topcoat damage, the underlying structure remains waterproof. For aesthetics and hygiene, repair is advisable.
Can I work over tiles?
Yes, provided the substrate is stable. Level joints and the entire tile surface with Stucopaste and use primer for good adhesion.
What gloss level will I achieve: matt or satin?
The base appears matte. The PU topcoat is extremely matte and is supplied as standard in the package.
How do I maintain Sterling without streaks or dull spots?
Vacuuming and mopping with a mild cleaning agent is sufficient. Avoid abrasive or aggressive products; remove spills promptly with a soft cloth.
What is the lead time until walkable and ready for use?
Allow approximately 24 hours drying or curing per layer. Lightly walkable shortly after the topcoat; fully load-bearing after several days.
Can I also finish a staircase or bespoke furniture with Sterling?
Yes. Lavasteen Seamless Floor adheres to various stable substrates and, thanks to its scratch resistance, is suitable for stairs and bespoke furniture.
Suitable for outdoor use?
Only with a UV-resistant topcoat. Epoxy can discolour in sunlight; the PU topcoat with UV protection minimises this.
